3A - My Entrepreneurship Story

    

My Experience:

         From the time that I was old enough to have a job, I have worked in retail.  Not only do I love fashion and clothes, but I love talking to people and helping them find the perfect outfit for their special occasion.

         Before my current position at lululemon, I was working at Anthropologie.  I loved everything about that job, except the dreaded back room.  Nothing was every in order, and we would search back there for long period of time trying to find exactly what the customer was looking for.  Many times, because of the mess in the back room, we were unable to find what the guest was looking for, and we would have to send them home empty handed. 

        When I left Anthropologie and became a manager at lululemon, I knew having an organized back room would make my staff and customers much happier.  My first day on the job was great... until I saw the stock room!  I then made it my mission to transform our lululemon back room.  I rescheduled the hours around, and worked it out so that I could stay late some nights and go in early other days to work on organizing.  It wasn't easy, and it involved me having to lead our team towards a new standard, but I am so glad I put the work in!

Why ENT3003?

          I love thinking of new, creative ways to solve problems.  I like to work towards helping to make the world a better place.  When making my schedule for this semester, I was discouraged by the original classes I was taking.  None of them really interested me, but I had to take them in order to complete my major requirements.  I had room for one more elective, and I wanted to take something that actually interested me.  I found ENT3003, and I thought that it sounded very interesting.  This semester I hope to achieve a better understanding of what exactly it means to be an entrepreneur!
